The Art Of Hip Hop illuminated Wynwood with the grand opening of its permanent exhibition highlighting the cultural significance of Hip Hop’s visual creators - photographers, album cover artists, graffiti writers, logo and fashion designers - on Thursday, December 7th. Launched in partnership with StockX, the immersive celebration featured a DJ set by DJ Spade followed by a performance by Hip Hop icon Fat Joe, making it a highlight of Miami Art Week 2023.

Attendees explored The Art Of Hip Hop’s inaugural exhibition entitled From the Bronx to the Beach alongside a specially curated collection of sneakers from Co-Founder & Curator Alan Ket in collaboration with StockX to amplify the stories of the works featured in the exhibition. Upon entrance, guests were immersed in works of famed Hip Hop photographers Janette Beckman, Mike Miller, Henry Chalfant, Matt Doyle, Lisa Leone, Joe Conzo, and Daniel Hastings. Hip Hop album covers designed by Cey Adams, Eric Haze, Slick, Kaws, and works highlighting Miami’s own Hip Hop history through the lenses of local historian and photographer Derick G. and photographer Esdras T. Thelusma were also on display.

The evening offered an array of diverse and engaging experiences including an experiential artist lounge by MiCampo showcasing bottle hydro dipping, a sneaker customization station by Modelo, and complimentary craft cocktails and beverages by D’Usse Cognac and Guayaki. Guests also enjoyed perks like complimentary sneaker and hat cleaning by Crep Protect and limited edition sneaker customization by Champion.  The night concluded with electrifying performances by Drake’s resident DJ, DJ Spade, and the legendary Fat Joe. Prior to his standout performance, Fat Joe was presented with a hand-painted portrait by Disem signed by all of Miami’s graffiti community.
